Stephanie + Warren – Wagon Hill Engagement Session

It doesn’t get any cuter than these three! Stephanie, Warren, and their sweet pup Desi are totally the bees knees. We can’t get enough of how beautiful their Wagon Hill Engagement Session is. We met these two lovebirds for their positively gorgeous engagement session at one of their favorite places to frequent  – Wagon Hill Farm in Durham, NH. It was a perfect summer evening on the farm, and we had so much fun documenting their smiles, laughter, and love! Not only are Stephanie + Warren totally photogenic {We told you guys!} but their adorable pup, Desi, is an absolute natural in front of the camera – just all around a ham. We LOVED every minute of working with all three of them, and we cannot wait for their big day in 2015! It’s going to be amazing!

Stephanie + Warren Q&A

How did you meet?

Stephanie: We met through mutual friends at the Coat of Arms in downtown Portsmouth.

Warren: One summer night about 4 years ago I was working on my jeep. There was a loud mysterious noise coming from one of my wheels, so I decided to take it for a drive and see if it fixed itself. While driving around downtown Portsmouth hoping the issue resolved itself, my friend Katie Kearns apparently saw me drive by. She called me a few minutes later and invited me to come out for some drinks. Later that night I met up with Katie and her new friend Stephanie Smith from Wisconsin. After seeing those piercing blue eyes and hearing that unmistakable laugh I was hooked. The rest is history…

What did you first notice about your sweetie?

Stephanie: I thought Warren was definitely cute so I went up to introduce myself. I had a few cocktails prior to this so I must have been loud (typical) and he muttered those famous first words, “You know you’re yelling in my ear, right?”

Warren: Blue Eyes and Loud Voice

What do you like to do together?

Stephanie: We both enjoy working on our house, hiking and anything outdoors, and of course playing with our dog, Desi.

Warren: Everything: Jeep Rides, Beach, Hiking, Traveling, House Projects, Desi related activities.

Who’s the most ticklish?

Stephanie: Definitely Warren!

Warren: Stephanie.

Tell us the Proposal Story!

Stephanie: After waiting and waiting and more waiting… Warren proposed in Central Park in New York City! He planned a weekend to visit his brother and sister-in-law (Sean and Jessica) in Manhattan. After a fun day walking through the city, Warren told me that Jessica organized a carriage ride through the park so I could see it for the first time. It was raining for most of the day, but the rain stopped just before the carriage ride. The park was empty and the colors of spring were glistening from the rain. It was breathtaking! The carriage driver, a lovely man who had been working in the park for 33 years, asked if we wanted to take a photo at Wagner’s Cove. I was a little hesitant to get out of the carriage because it was cold, but willingly went to take the photo. As soon as I turned around, there was Warren on one knee with the ring! He didn’t say anything for a few seconds (I think it was shock), but then popped the question.

Then, the carriage driver serenaded us with a lovely song he wrote entitled, “Love of a Horse” … Don’t ask! As we were getting off the carriage and going to meet Sean and Jessica for a celebratory night on the town, I realized I forgot my purse where we got engaged! Warren and I sprinted through the park, heels and all, and luckily found the purse untouched! All in all, it was a rollercoaster of a night and one we will never forget!

Warren: Ever since I met Stephanie she has mentioned that she has wanted to visit Central Park in NYC. Over the last four years we have visited the NYC area many times and I have always made an excuse why we couldn’t go.

When I started planning our proposal it was clear that Central Park was the spot pop the big question. It was very difficult planning the proposal in NYC living up here, but luckily my brother and his wife helped out, being residents of Manhattan.

After coming up with an elaborate story I told Stephanie we were going to New Jersey to visit my parents and then NYC to visit my brother and his wife. During this time I thought of where/when I was going to propose. What better than a horse drawn carriage ride in Central Park? The morning of the proposal Stephanie and I went into NYC and had brunch with my Brother and Jessica. During our meal I privately mentioned to Stephanie that Jessica made a reservation for a “horse drawn carriage thing.” I asked Stephanie if she wanted to go, clearly knowing what her answer would be. After eating we spent the afternoon walking around the city. That night around 5PM we started to get ready to go out for a ride and dinner. Stephanie asked Jessica why her and Sean weren’t getting ready. Jessica said they are in central park almost every day and it would be nice for us to experience it on our own. Stephanie didn’t seem fazed, and so we went on our way. We met up with our driver around 59th Street. Our hour-long ride is much of a blur until we stopped near a gazebo at Wagner Cove

What Stephanie didn’t know was that I had planned for the driver to stop here so I could propose. He stopped the horse and said it was a great spot to take a photo. Stephanie walked ahead of me as I handed him my camera to capture what was about to happen. As Stephanie walked up to the waters edge and turned around I got on one knee and proposed. It couldn’t have been better.

Over the course of the remainder of the night we went out for an incredible dinner and a music performance.

What’s your favorite feature/characteristic about your sweetie?

Stephanie: He takes care of me and always makes sure I’m happy and safe. Warren is the most genuine person I know and will drop anything to help someone. He also has a cute tush!

Warren: My favorite feature about Stephanie is her incredible Midwest Compassion.

Have you picked a honeymoon destination? If so, where are you going?

Stephanie: Warren is in charge of picking the honeymoon location and wants to go to Alaska. I’m not exactly jumping for joy, but I’ll go wherever he wants! (As long as I get some relaxation time!)

Warren: Alaska is a thought, but as of now that is the only place that has popped into my head.

How is the wedding planning going?

Stephanie: It’s going well! It was definitely stressful in the beginning, but things are starting to come together!

Warren: It’s good.

What are you most excited about for the wedding?

Stephanie: I’m most excited about having our family from Wisconsin and New Jersey all together to celebrate! It’s going to be a party, that’s for sure! Oh and I’m also excited to see Desi walk down the aisle!

Warren: I can’t wait to see Stephanie walk down the aisle and be so happy.
