The Truth Behind Motherhood Sessions

It’s now common knowledge that 2017 came with some pretty huge changes to MPS and 2018 brought on even more! Ever since our big announcement of the new direction of Mon Petit Studio, we’ve been asked so many questions. Usually, they sound something like this.

“I thought you guys loved shooting weddings!”

“But you guys have such a great following!”

“Was the wedding business not doing well?”

“But why?”

You guys. We LOVED shooting weddings. In fact, we STILL love shooting them. Nothing’s changed on that front. Come to think of it, if you’re planning on an intimate wedding or elopement in the Orlando area, we’d love to chat with you!

So then… what’s changed? The short answer? Our lives. When life brings on those big time changes – you know, the mega kind like, children, relocation, etc. – you either bend along with them or you break. I don’t know about you, but I prefer the idea of bending. After becoming parents, our priorities changed. We moved closer to family here in Florida (hey new friends!) and shortly after, we started realizing that our old lifestyle of LONG wedding weekends weren’t going to work out so well for our little.

Luckily, we have a great following of the most awesome clients ever! While we received many questions, we received WAY more encouraging messages. We even have clients coming from New England to vacation here in Florida and using the opportunity to have family photos taken while they’re here! How cool is that?! We are seriously so very blessed to have made so many connections with our clients throughout the years.

The wedding business is very much alive and well. It was in full swing and booming for us too. We just had to take a step back and get our lives on track to where we wanted it to be. Chris will be more behind the scenes and I will continue doing what I do best, telling your stories in photographic form.

So, why am I going in this new motherhood, maternity, fresh 48, birth, family approach?

After I became a mom, things I wanted in life became so much clearer to me. I wanted to spend time with my family. I frequently find myself wishing I could bottle up the moments. Mama’s, you know what I mean. The moments where you find yourself deeply inhaling that fresh baby scent, that feeling of their tiny hand grasping yours, their wispy little hairs tickling your nose, those squishy rosy cheeks. We can’t bottle these up. We can’t preserve these moments forever. What we CAN do, is have these feelings captured to cherish for years to come, in the form of photographs.

Our babies grow up faster than we can imagine. Photos will help keep those perfect little memories alive.

This is why I’ve decided to shift gears into this new direction. I love what I do. I love motherhood. I love that I get to combine the two and call it my job.

If you love what you see on my website and you’d like to preserve these fleeting memories too, contact me to book your session today.
